       About Us Text Box:   CFAO MALAWI LIMITED  In May 2002, CFAO SA of France purchased the entire operations of the Mandala Motors Group. This acquisition included the operational assets of the automotive business and all of the existing employees were retained, thereby continuing the presence of a business that has been involved in the motor industry in Malawi for more than eighty eight years. The business used to be known as the Mandala Automotive Group. Mandala is probably one of the best known names in Malawi having been established back in 1878 by the holding company, The African Lakes Corporation, a Glasgow based corporation who established general trade with Malawi, then known as Nyasaland. CFAO is the leading automobile and pharmaceutical distributor in Africa and the French Overseas Departments and Territories. CFAO is also a company with industrial production and trading activities through its CFAO Industries and Trading division and it is a well known player in the distribution of New Technology Information and Communication through its CFAO Technologies division. CFAO’s 2006 consolidated turnover stood at 2.219 billion Euros (up 9.1%).  A subsidiary of the PPR group (formerly Pinault - Printemps - Redoute), which is a global player in Retail and Luxury Goods, CFAO is active in 38 African countries and French Overseas Departments and Territories. It has a 10,400 strong workforce, spread over 135 subsidiaries and 286 sites. CFAO was created in 1887 with the establishment of "Compagnie Française de l'Afrique Occidentale” and started general trade operations in 1888 in various West African countries. In addition CFAO Malawi are the importers and distributors for Suzuki Motor Vehicles of Japan, Nissan UD Heavy Duty Trucks and Buses, New Holland Tractors, Cummins Diesel Automotive and Power Generation, and Fleetguard Filtration Systems.   SALES DEPARTMENT  Our sales departments are managed exclusively by highly trained Malawian staff who have achieved remarkable success in penetrating the local sales market, supplying s major companies and Government departments with all of their transportation requirements. With CFAO Malawi holding a broad range of vehicles and equipment we feel we can satisfy all of your transportation, haulage or construction equipment requirements. We hold in stock at any time in excess of 100 vehicles to choose from, all in a varying range of colours and specifications.  AFTERSALES DEPARTMENT   Our service and parts operations are managed by both Malawian and Expatriate Service and Parts Managers. Factory trained Malawian technicians receive constant ongoing technology updates and refresher courses through our own training school and regularly updated training instruction courses from visiting factory-based training staff.
